An International Event
A British artist of acknowledged international standing, Marc Quinn is coming to Verona with some of his monumental works, which will be scattered over the city's main historical sites, together with a number of other works concentrated in a major exhibition to be installed at the Casa di Giulietta.
This confirms the Municipality's intention of bringing to Verona, through a policy of proactive collaboration between the public and private spheres, cultural events with original and far-reaching contents and forms that will also highlight the themes of great emotional impact and intellectual provocation that art is able to explore when it turns its gaze on the contemporary world.
So it is with satisfaction and pride that we present to the people of Verona a great artist like Quinn, whose ability to speak of the complex reality of our day, using languages that unite tradition and innovation, humanism and the dimension of the media, makes him congenial to our own outlook. It is significant that the British artist's show has been included among the fringe events of this year's 53rd International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale: this adds further lustre to the Veronese proposal and strengthens the international dimension of the cultural programme on which we have embarked.
For this reason we would like to express our deep gratitude to the curator Danilo Eccher, the Byblos Art Gallery, ArtVerona and all those who have made possible the realization of this prestigious initiative.
